Leora Mae Alban, age 93 of Toronto passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Sienna Skilled Nursing Home, Wintersville, OH.

She was a member of the former Toronto Gospel Hall and had retired from the former Toronto Tribune Newspaper as a typesetter. She had also served as a practical nurse.

Leora was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Helen Rebecca (Dye) Peckens; husband, George Lee Alban in 1983 whom she married January 22, 1959; sisters, Wilda Nation and Leah Myers and brothers, Dwight and Wayne Peckens.

She is survived by her sons, Lee Austin (Jean) Alban of Wintersville, OH and David John (Laura) Alban of Urbana, OH; grandchildren, Blayde and Sterling Alban and niece Janice (Clarence) Gallaher of Bremen, OH. Several other nieces and nephews survive.

Visitation hours for Leora will be held 4-6 P.M. Sunday, January 6th and from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. Monday, January 7th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Leora's life will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery, County Road 46, Toronto, OH.
