Mahala Elizabeth “Sis” “Liz” Emery a homemaker of Toronto passed away September 27, 2026.

She was born March 18, 1939 in Toronto the daughter of the late Emmett Giesey Thayer and Lillie Elizabeth (Pinkerton) Thayer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert “Jim” Emery in 2023 and a brother Robert Thayer.

Mahala was a graduate of Toronto High School, loved to sew bears that were numbered and gave them away. She was very loving, very giving and she loved the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christina and Katherine Emery; “baby sister”, Charlene Marie (Thayer) Montgomery and niece Roberta Lynn Gray. Anthony and Paige Peace , Charlene Peace, Chelsey Peace, Storm and Ashlynn Gray(great great niece) and Ronnie Gray II and Miranda Hetherington. Also, her special cat Pumpkin. There are also lots of great great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and they loved her! Anyone who met her couldn’t help but love her! She always made sure if you were at her house or seen her she would want a hug and tell you she loved you!

To honor Mahala’s wishes she had designated cremation without services.
