Obituary

Marian E. Rawson, age 88 of Toronto, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Trinity medical Center West - Steubenville.Born June 2, 1918 in New Somerset, Ohio, she is a daughter if the late David Earl and Beulah Frances VanDyke Yocum. Marian is a member of the New Somerset Christian Church, were she was a church volunteer and part of the churches Willing Workers group. She is a 1937 Graduate of Toronto High School and a 1938 Graduate of the former Youngstown School of Beauty. Marian is a member of the Order of Eastern Star Toronto Chapter # 215 and is a former member of the Knoxville Volunteer Fire Department''s Ladies Auxiliary. She is retired as a self-employed hairdresser, and also worked for many years with the Jefferson County Board of Elections.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest V. Rawson, whom she married November 11, 1939, and who passed away in 1980. A son, Ernest Boyd Rawson who passed away in 1995, two sisters; Mrs. Mildred McConnell and Miss Frances Yocum; and three brothers; Kenneth, John and David E. A"PappyA" Yocum.Marian is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Connie Workman and her husband Chuck of Pensacola, Fla. Mrs. Kay Porter and her husband Bruce of Ocala, Fla. and Mrs. Kathy Lou Workman and her husband J.B. of Toronto; two sons, Victor Rawson and his wife Cheryl and Robert E Rawson and his wife Cathy, all of Toronto. A daughter-in-law Mrs. Mary Lou Rawson of Toronto; A sister Mrs. Arlene Higgins and her husband G. Earl of Vancouver, Washington, Fifteen grandchildren, and Ten Great-Grandchildren.Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, November 17, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. Toronto, Ohio 43964 - 740-537-1234/800-588-1446. The Toronto Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star will conduct services at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with pastor Rob Rowe officiating.
