Martin Richard Bell, age 75 of Empire, OH passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of the Ohio Valley, Weirton, WV.
He was born in Rayland, OH March 19, 1940 the son of the late Martin Raymond Bell and Edna Alberta (Kemp) Tipton.
Richard was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church; member of Teamster's Local Union #86, Canton, OH; served his country in the U.S. Army; was an avid fisherman and Steeler fan and loved to ride his motorcycle. He loved his family very much.
He was retired had been employed by the McCauslen Florist of Steubenville; the Steubenville Transit Company; Matlack Truck Company of Toronto; Leaseway Car Hauler Company of Lordstown, OH; BOC Gas Trucking Company of Newell, WV and the Mountaineer Race Track and Resort of Newell, WV.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen Elizabeth (Spencer) Bell in 2008 whom he married November 26, 1960; brother, Ralph William Bell in 1996; father-in-law, Everett Spencer in 1977 and mother-in-law, Betty (Yost) Spencer in 2013.
He survivors are his daughters, Joyce Ann Bell, Shelley Lynn (Anthony) Alford and Melanie Jo Bell all of Empire, OH; sons, Cory Johnston and Lance (Patty) Johnston all of Toronto, OH; grandsons, Sean Alford of Empire, OH and Cody Alford of Toronto, OH; granddaughter, Kathlynn L. Alford of Empire, OH and sister-in-law, Wendy Jo Spencer of Empire, OH.
Visitation hours for Richard will be 3-5 and 6-8 Tuesday, April 21st at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 22nd at the funeral home with Pastor Lori Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery, County Road 68, Toronto.
There will be full military graveside honors by the Toronto American Legion.
Memorial contributions in memory of Richard may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
