Mary Jane Shane, age 95 of Toronto, OH passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Valley Hospice Care Center, North, Steubenville, OH.

She was born March 10, 1924 in East Liverpool, OH the daughter of the late John P. and Irene F. (Connor) Ryan.

Mary Jane was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Toronto, OH and the Catholic Woman's Club of the church. She was a 1942 graduate of Toronto High School; loved old movies, her dog Zeek and loved to read.

She had been employed as a bookkeeper at the A & P grocery store of Toronto, OH, Russ Craft of Weirton, WV and Shane Modern Appliances of Toronto, OH.

Besides her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death, having been happily married for ten years, by her husband, Edward "Jadda" Shane (1975), brothers, Jim, Tom, Rich Ryan and sisters, Kay Hill and Betty Jo Howell.

Mary Jane is survived by her son, James (Peggy) Alcock of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Ryan James (Tracy) Alcock and Kelley (Garrett) Venable; great-grandchildren, Parker, Adelynn and Hudson; sister, Phyllis Ann Smith of East Liverpool, OH; brother, Michael Austin Ryan of Camas, WA; sister-in-law, Deborah Ryan of Steadman, NC; five nieces and three nephews.

Visitation hours for Mary Jane will be held from 1 to 5 pm Sunday, November 10th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A Vigil service will be held 4:45 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Services for Mary Jane will be held 10 am Monday, November 11th at the funeral home with Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
