Melvin Joseph Leo Kidwell, age 79 of Steubenville (Pottery Addition) passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville.

He was born September 23, 1941 in Uniontown, PA the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Kidwell and June Caroline (Tustin) Kidwell

Melvin was retired from the Fraley and Schilling Truck Co. of Brilliant and had served his country during the Vietnam era in the U.S. Navy

In addition to his parents Melvin was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Selvig in 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Mae (Vincent) Kidwell whom he married September 4, 1964; son, Melvin Paul (Connie) Kidwell of Cambridge, OH; daughter, Tammy Jo (Dana Bonner) Ferguson of Richmond, OH; grandchildren, Michael Kidwell, Katie (Zach Wells) Kidwell, Jessica (Ian) Myers and Rebecca (Tim) Pietro; great grandchildren, Alexander, Joey, Benjamin and Vayda and a brother, William (Thelma) Kidwell of Jacksonville, NC.

Visitation hours for Melvin will be held Wednesday October 7th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto followed by a celebration service of Melvin's life at 1 pm Wednesday with Pastor William Westling officiating. Interment will be held at the Union Cemetery at a later date
