Michael J. Turick, age 83 of Toronto, OH passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, OH surrounded by his family after a courages battle with cancer.

He was born October 14, 1930 in Stratton, OH the son of the late Michael and Julia Ann (Carouthers) Turick.

Michael was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; had pitched semi-pro baseball; was retired from the former Satralloy Corporation of Mingo Jct.,OH and had worked for the Herald Star newspaper. He loved to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Turick; sisters, Maxine Jackson and Mildred Woodrow; grandson, Chad Sellers; granddaughter, Amy Jo Turick. Michael''s survivors are his wife, JoAnn (Pelley) Turick whom he married September 14, 1954, 60 years of marriage; sons, Gregory Michael (Melissa) Turick of Steubenville, OH, Mark Douglas (Joyce) Turick of Richmond, OH, Shawn Matthew Turick of Steubenville, OH and Toby Allen Turick of Toronto, OH; daughters, Patricia Diane Sellers of Toronto, OH and Ruth Ann (Kim) Bailey of Wintersville, OH; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Otis. Visitation hours for Michael will be held 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, June 3rd at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. 740-537-1234 or 855-847-1240. Additional visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North River Ave., Toronto A Vigil service will be held 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti.
