Naomi H. Merritt , Age 65 of Steubenville passed away Saturday , January 26th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 1, 1942 in St. Marys, West Virginia the daughter of the late Roy and Hazel Metz Cunningham. She was also preceded in death by her aunt and uncle , Willy and Zee Cunningham who raised Naomi. Naomi is a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill , Steubenville and was a devout Christian. She was an elderly care giver and was the former owner and operator of the Merritt Manor of Toronto. She had also worked at the Weirton Steel Co. for 13 years and also managed Morrow''s Nut House at the Ft. Steuben Mall. Naomi was preceded in death by: Parents / aunt and uncle who raised her / son - James F. Merritt who passed away May 21, 2002 / infant daughter - Elizabeth Merritt / 2 brothers - Bill and Earl Hall. Her survivors are:Husband:Paul F. Merritt of the home whom she married November 4, 1966 daughters - Gayle McMillian and husband Tom of Toronto; Susan King and husband Michael of Conroe, Texas.2 sons - David Merritt and wife Debbie of Laredo, Texas; Peter Merritt of SteubenvilleGrandchildren: Angel McMillian; Brittany, Zach, Mark, Dylan and Luke Merritt3 brothers: Tom Hall; Delbert Hall and Roy Cunningham all of Parkersburg, W.Va.4 sisters : Barbara Kirl of Parkersburg, W.Va.; Jean Rake of Indianapolis, Indiana; Lillian McCarry and May Meeks of Parkersburg, W.Va.She is also survived by many cousins whom she was raised with.
