Paul P. Kalivoda, Sr. - Age 88 - of Toronto passed away suddenly Sunday - March 9th at the Trinity Medical Center - West emergency room.He was born January 8, 1920 in Lansford, Pa. the son of the late Paul and Frances Balash Kalivoda.Paul is a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Toronto where he was a member and past president of the Holy Name Society and an Adorer of the church.His memberships include: Toronto American Legion Post # 86 where he had served as Chaplain for several years; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 1276; Director and past president of the Dapper Dan of the Ohio Valley; Ohio Valley Athletic Conference director; Ohio Athletic Director''s Hall of Fame.Paul is a WW II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and is a 1938 graduate of Toronto High School; a 1942 graduate of the Ohio University.His employment includes the following: Teacher at the Dillonvale, Ohio school system; taught at the former Irondale, Ohio High School; coached basketball at the College of Steubenville (Franciscan University); had taught science and physical education at Toronto High School and was a coach of football, basketball and wrestling at Toronto High School. He also served as Athletic Director for several years at Toronto High School. He had also managed the Toronto Memorial Pool for several years. After his retirement from Toronto High School Paul managed the Indian Village Apartments at Mingo Jct., OhioPaul was preceded in death by: Parents / Wife - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Dyer Kalivoda who passed away July 16, 2006 and whom he married June 28, 1941 / 2 brothers - Louis and Michael Kalivoda / sister Mary Lawson.His survivors are:2 Daughters: Katherine A.
