Paul R. Tenney, age 81 of Toronto, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Weirton Medical Center - Weirton, W.Va.Born August 7, 1925 in Elkins, West Virginia, he is a son of the late Ralph and Gertrude Tenney. Paul attended Steubenville High School, and is a United States Navy Veteran who served on supply transports from the United States to South America during WW II. He is retired from the former National Steel Company (Weirton Steel Division) where he worked as a roller operator in the Tin Mill. Paul is a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto American legion Post # 86, Toronto Veteran''s of Foreign Wars Post # 6906, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1276 in Toronto.In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Irene P. (Romey) Tenney whom he married July 27, 1946 and who passed away April 26, 1998, and by his two brothers, Ralph and Carl Tenney.Paul is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Paula Swickard and her husband Daniel of Newark, Ohio; two grandsons, Todd Swickard and his wife Michelle of Newark, Christopher Swickard of Gahanna, Ohio, and a great-granddaughter Miss Halen Swickard, also of Newark.Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, November 10, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. with a vigil service to be held at 3:35 P.M. at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 main St. Toronto. 740-537-1234/800-588-1446. The Toronto American Legion Post # 86 will conduct full military honors at 9:00 P.M.A blessing service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home and will be followed by a funeral liturgy with Mass at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.
