Peggy Mae Nordenger age 93 of Toronto passed away Friday March 14, 2025 at the Valley Hospice North Care Center, Steubenville.

Peggy was born February 17, 1932 in Wellsburg, WV the daughter of the late James B. and Rose Mae (Smith) Cox.

She was a member of the First Global Methodist Church of Toronto; Toronto Post 86 American Legion Auxiliary; Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 1276 Auxiliary; Jefferson County Salon 807 of the 8/340; Wellsville VFW no. 5647 Auxiliary; Loyal Order of Moose No. 1564 Wellsburg and the Toronto Senior Citizens. She was also a graduate of Toronto High School.

Peggy was retired from the former Ohio Valley Hospital of Steubenville as a clinical secretary.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Carl W. "Dutch" Nordenger in 2007 whom she married August 5, 1953 and daughter Carla M. Trifonoff in 2009; brother, Keith Donley and sister, Merline White.

Peggy's family that survives includes : son, James Nordenger and wife Susie; grandchildren, Valerie Michelle Varner and husband Clint, Jennifer Lynne McCourt and husband Brad, Shauna Marie Miller, Adam Blake Trifonoff and wife Sarah; great grandchildren, Mason Miller, Kendall McCourt, Emily and Olivia Varner and Bently, Max and Cash Trifonoff; son-in-law John Trifonoff and companion Bill Black.

Visitation hours for Peggy will be held 2-4 and 6- 8 PM Tuesday, March 18th at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto. Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary service will be held Tuesday March 18th at the Clarke Funeral Home.

A celebration service of Peggy's life will be held 12 PM noon Wednesday March 19th at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at the Toronto Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Peggy may be directed to the donor's choice of charities.
