Peter J. Graceffa Obituary

Peter J. Grace age 97 of Toronto, Ohio passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday January 28, 2026.  He was born to Gerlando Graceffa and Mary Josephine Graceffa on June 19, 1929.

Preceding him in death: His Spouse, Dolores Jean Graceffa, Father, Gerlando Graceffa, Mother, Mary Josephine Graceffa, Sister Mary Ann Graceffa, and Step Son Monsignor Joseph E. Zamborsky Jr.  He is survived by his loving Sister Mary Jo (Stephen R) Parello, loving Nephews, Raymond S. (Sandra L) Parello and Gerlando A. (Monica) Parello, Cousin Joseph (Rose) Commarata, Cousin Debra (Mark) Widowson, Step Children: Robert Zamborsky, Rebecca Cottrell, Colleen Zamborsky, and Dawn Zamborsky, six Step-Grandchildren, and nine Step Great Grandchildren.

Peter was a kind, gentle, humble man who never knew a stranger.  He was a 1946 graduate of Mingo High School, and member of Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church, Toronto, OH, where he sang in the choir.  He also sang and played the guitar with the St. Agnes Parish Choir in Mingo Jct, Ohio.  Peter was a guitarist and vocalist with the popular 1950s Mingo Jct Ohio based band, the "Antones", and made 4 records including "Jeanette" (1956), "You are the One" (1956), "Time for Love" (1957) and "All my Life (1957).  Peter was an avid golfer and loved music.  He especially enjoyed playing guitar and singing Italian songs. Peter was also very talented at wood-working. He served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force.  He was also a member of the Knights of St. George and Sunrise Seniors.

A Memorial Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at the Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church, 412 Findley Street Toronto, Ohio at 11 A.M on Thursday March 5, 2026.  Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio following Mass.
