Richard Allan "Dick" Monigold, Sr. of Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.

Dick was born August 7, 1940 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Daniel and Evelyn (Rawson) Monigold.

He was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill; a 1959 graduate of Jefferson Union High School; loved to build and paint bird houses and loved riding his tractor and working in his yard.

Dick was retired from the Wheeling – Pittsburgh Steel Company and also did part time bricklayer jobs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Rowe,

Jean Mossor and Betty Thompson and brothers, Clifford "Bud" and David Monigold; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Monigold and Ruth Monigold

Dick is survived by his wife, Cathy M. (Prokop) Monigold whom he married July 30, 1960; sons, Richard A. (Monica) Monigold, Jr. of Bloomingdale, OH and Michael D. Monigold of Steubenville, OH; sisters, Grace Schmittauer of Athens, OH and Nancy (John) Vittek of Steubenville, OH; brothers, Donald Monigold of Wintersville, OH and Thomas (Sandy) Monigold of Steubenville, OH; niece, Michelle Brodie of Bloomingdale; sister-in-law, Jo-Ann Monigold of Steubenville, OH and brother-in-law, Fred Thompson of Steubenville, OH.

Visitation hours for Dick will be held 3-6  P.M. Thursday, November 9th at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church , 3419 State Rt. 213, Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), OH 43952.

A celebration service of Dick's life will be held 6 P.M. Thursday at the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeff Proya and Pastor Roger Wayne officiating.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral dinner at Bell Chapel Church following Dick's service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Dick may be made to the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church.
