Obituary

Richard E. "Dick" Wallace, age 67 of Toronto passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born May 18, 1947 in Steubenville, OH. He was formerly employed as a railroad brakeman at the Weirton Steel Co. and retired from the Sears-Roebuck Company, from the automobile tire department of Steubenville. He was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson Union High School; was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish; was an avid gardener and had served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Wallace in 1997 and Mildred (Eddy) Wallace in 2007; brother, George R. Wallace in 1991; sisters, Rebecca Wallace in 2005 and Margaret Jane Smallwood in 2013. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Catherine Wallace.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria (Eric) Chir of Pittsburgh, PA and Amanda (William) Wineman, Jr. of Wintersville, OH; sister, Barbara (Michael) Ford of Stevensville, MI; sister-in-law, Royanne Wallace of Irondale, OH; his best friends, George Wiley and Bobbi Jo Kenny; several nieces and nephews; his dog companion, Grissum. Visitation hours for Dick will be held 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, January 11th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH Dick''s service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 12th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH. There will be Military Honors by the Toronto American Legion at the funeral home before going to the cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Dick may be made to the Prime Time Office on Aging, attention: donations (Meals on Wheels), 300 Lovers Lane, Steubenville, OH 43952
