Dale Bickerstaff - Age 73 - of Toronto passed away Wednesday - January 31st at the Trinity Medical Center - West, Steubenville.He was born December 27, 1933 in Steubenville the son of the late Albert and Augusta Oberg Bickerstaff.Dale is a graduate of Steubenville High School. He is a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and the Toronto V.F.W. Post # 6906 and was a former member of the Cadiz Eagles Aerie #2162Dale is a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army - Baker Battery 64th Field Artillery Bn. 25th Infantry Division. He received the following medals - Purple Heart - Korean Service Medal - National Defense Medal.He is retired from the Wheeling - Pittsburgh Steel Co.Dale was preceded in death by: Parents / Wife - Lorestine May Henline Bickerstaff who passed away March 9, 1988 / Sister - Mary Margaret Stoer.His survivors are:Companion of 19 years: Linda Spence of the home2 Sons: Paul Joseph Bickerstaff of Jacksonville, Florida Robert Dale Bickerstaff, Jr. and wife Patti of Weirton, W.Va.Step-Son: Doug Spence and wife Kelly of TorontoStep-Daughter: Janet Holmes and husband Ron of Toronto2 Brothers: Albert Bickerstaff of Steubenville William Bickerstaff and companion Petie of Plymouth, IndianaSister: Clara Louise Bianco of WintersvilleGrandchildren: Emily Bickerstaff, Wendy Coghe, John Spence, Ronnie Holmes and Sean SpenceGreat-grandchildren: Dylan Coghe and Kloey BiddleFriends and family will gather for visitation 2-4 & 6-8 Friday at Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. - Toronto. 740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446.There will be a combined Toronto American Legion and Toronto V.F.W. service 7:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Highland Hills Memorial Gardens - Follansbee, W.Va. There will be full military graveside honors by the Toronto American Legion.
