(Fithen) Braniff
November 9, 1947 – October 1, 2016
Rose Ann Braniff, age 68 of Wintersville, OH passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH.
She was born November 9, 1947 in Steubenville, OH the daughter of the late Francis and Rita (Fisher) Fithen.
Rose Ann was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Steubenville, OH; was a 1965 graduate of Steubenville High School and a 1975 graduate of the College of Steubenville.
Rose Ann was a licensed social worker and retired from Jefferson Behavioral Health System in 2005. She had served on the boards for Jefferson County C.A.C. and the Jefferson County Prevention and Recovery Board.
Rose Ann received the following awards: 2002, the Bruce Venlo Distinguished Service National Coalition Award for the Homeless; 2003, Lifetime Achievement Award for the Coalition on Housing and Homelessness in Ohio; 2004 the J.J. Macedonia, M.D. Visionary Award; 2005, the Jefferson County Coalition on Housing and Homelessness Lifetime Achievement Award.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Fithen and sister, Mary Edna Fithen.
Rose Ann is survived by her daughter, Amy Sue Neeley of Wintersville, OH;
Son, Maynard Paul Braniff, Jr. of Toronto,OH grandchildren, Tiffany and Daniel Braniff and Ella and Liam Neeley; great-granddaughter, Samantha Swigger and a brother, John (Pamela) Fithen of Steubenville, OH.
Visitation hours for Rose Ann will be held 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday, October 5th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. Additional visitation will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, October 6th at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2105 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville.
A celebration service of Rose Ann's life will be held 1 P.M. Thursday at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Heckathorn officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery, Mingo Jct., OH
Memorial contributions in memory of Rose Ann may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
