Roy R. Culp, age 81 of Empire, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Born December 3, 1929 in Empire, he is a son of the late Raymond and Grace Gladys Skinner Culp. Roy is a member of the Empire United Methodist Church, and is retired from the former O.E. Sammis Plant (First Energy) where he worked as a control room operator and he is a member of the O.E. Sammis Plant Hi-Stack Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed planting and working in his garden.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Treadway and Richard A. Theiss, and an infant brother.Roy''s survivors include, his wife of 61 years Mrs. Juanita J. (Cash) Culp of the family home in Empire whom he married December 7, 1949. A son, Raymond Lee Culp, also of the family home; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Finley and her husband Bud of Bowerstown, Ohio and Mrs. Eileen Moteen of Massillon, Ohio; two brothers, Frank Theiss and his wife Barbara and Leo Theiss and his wife Sue, both of Texas.
