Sonja L. Keenan - Age 65 - of Empire, Ohio passed away at her home Thursday - November 17, 2005 of natural causes.She was born March 22, 1940 in Hammondsville, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl and Ocie Brammer Allen.Sonja is a member of the Empire United Methodist Church - Empire, Ohio where she was also a member of the Women''s Society of the church and a soloist at the church and at many other functions throughout the area.She was a member of the Hollow Rock Holiness Campground Auxillary and was a 1958 graduate of the former Irondale High School.Sonja retired in 1999, after 30 years of service, from the Edison Local School System as a library aid. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Janice Flesch who passed away in 1989.Sonja''s survivors are:Husband: John Y. Keenan of the home whom she married August 30, 1958Sister: Solina Marrero and husband Pedro of Toronto3 Brothers: Earl W. Allen and wife Anna of Margate, Florida Charles M. Allen and wife Bonnie of Empire, Ohio William D. Allen and wife Michelle of Irondale, OhioTwo nieces that Sonja considered as daughters - Christi Niswonger and husband William of Hanoverton, Ohio / Melissa Vein and husband Pete of Medina, Ohio.Six grandchildrenFriends and family will gather for visitation 6-8 Saturday / 1-3 and 6-8 Sunday at the Clarke Funeral Home - 302 Main St. - Toronto (740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446) and also from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Empire United Methodist Church Monday November 21, 2005. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Empire United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alvin L. Talkington officiating.
