Susan Renee Blanton, age 73 of Toronto passed away Sunday July 23, 2023 .

She was born November 11, 1949 in East Liverpool the daughter of the late Jim and Donna (Pelley) Mercer.

Susan was a veteran of the Vietnam war serving her country in the U.S. Navy as a medic.

She had served as a volunteer as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and a volunteer for TEMS, Red Cross and Special Olympics. She retired from First Energy, Sammis Plant as an office manager.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Blanton in 2016 whom she married June 4, 1977.

Susan is survived by her children, Troy )(Nicole) Stewart ,Amber Stewart, Brandi Blanton and David Allen; grandchildren, Zach Stewart, Nate Stewart, Aubrey (Joey) Saner, Kaige Tedeschi, Kacy ( Spencer) Sninchak, Logan Allen and Taylor (Robbie) Stewart;  great-grandchildren, Preston Warren Stewart,  Adalynn Stewart, Bella Mamula, Bo Stewart and Sophia and Jackson Sninchak, ; sisters, Sherry Hunter, Sandy Croskey and Shelly (Jay) Gaumer; brothers-in-law, John (Julie), Kevin (Ruth) and Neil (Mary) Blanton; many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Debbie Northcraft.

Visitation hours for Susan will be held 5 to 7 pm Friday, July 28th at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto followed by full Military Honors by the Toronto American Legion at 7 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in memory of Susan may be made to Toronto Sports Boosters, Special Olympics or the donor's choice of charities.
