Thomas J. Lowery - Age 80 - of Toronto, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at his residence of natural causes.He was born January 8, 1922 in Toronto, the son of the late Alice Lowery McFeely.Tom is a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church of Toronto.He is a member, past Commander, Historian and member of the Executive Committee of the Toronto American Legion Post #86/ Toronto V.F.W. Post #6906 / Disabled American Veterans / American Legion Voiture #442 of the 40 and 8 / Management Club of Weirton Steel Co. / Dyer Country Club.Tom served in the civilian Conservation Corps. and the U.S.Navy after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He is a W.W.II U.S. Army veteran after having served in the Ardennes and Rhineland Campaigns in the Central European Theatre of Operations. He was a Platoon Sargeant and had received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart while serving in W.W.II.He retired from the Weirton Steel Company in 1982 where he had been employed as an Erection Mechanic Supervisor.Tom was preceded in death by his mother and a brother Jack McFeely.His survivors are:Wife: Eleanor McElhoes Lowery at home whom he married April 8, 1944.2 Sons: James A.
