Thomas Orlan Montgomery

Thomas "Tom" Orlan Montgomery passed peacefully on September 11, 2016 at OBX hospital in Nags Head NC.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Charlene Montgomery. They were married in Pittsburgh, PA. on June 21, 1978.

Tom is lovingly remembered by his children Tammy, Melissa, Treasa, Sheila, Roberta, Shera-Le, Christina, William,Miranda-Le, his little buddy and great grandson Brennan.  And also his 37 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

Tom is preceded in death by his father Claire and his mother Hulneda his daughter Tannya brothers William, James, Max and Donald also his sisters Nancy and Susan. Surviving are his brothers John and Ronald and his sisters Julie and Jane.

Tom retired from the United States Navy in 1976 after 20 years of service as a Vietnam Veteran. Then went on to be a skills training cordinator at Ohio Edison Power Plant in Stratton, Ohio.

Together Tom and Charlene fostered children for ten years. He enjoyed carpentry, bible study, football "GO TORONTO RED KNIGHTS" "GO WASHINGTON REDSKINS".

United States Navy will provide full military honors.

The memorial will be held at Son-Rise Church of Christ 1311 Goldie Street Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948 at 11 a.m. Friday September 16, 2016 . A family and friend gathering will be held after services in the fellowship hall.
