Thomas Albert A"RedA" Thompson - age 98 - of Toronto passed away Tuesday - January 25, 2011 at the Lifeline Hospital - Wintersville, Ohio.He was born September 16, 1912 in Toronto, Ohio the son of the late Cecil A"DocA" Thompson and Roxie Fell Thompson.Red was a 98 year member of the Riverview United Methodist Church of Toronto, 75 year member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. / Valley of Steubenville Scottish Rite 32 degree Mason/ 25 Year Club of the Weirton Steel Co. / Toronto Beautification Committee / former board member of the Toronto Union Cemetery Association / past president of Local American Iron and Steel Institute - Pittsburgh Chapter / a 1930 graduate of Toronto High School.He formed the Methodist Men''s organization at the Riverview Methodist Church that met every month for a meal and a programRed was retired from the Weirton Steel Corporation a subsidiary of National Steel as the first superintendent of the BOP. He traveled around the world to exchange ideas with fellow steelworkers for the development and design of the first BOP at the Weirton Steel Corporation.He was preceded in death by: Parents / his loving and devoted wife - Dorothy C. A"PeggyA" Campbell Thompson who passed away in 2002 and whom he married March 2, 1931 / sons - Jerome F. Thompson who passed away in 1994 and Kim Campbell Thompson who passed away in 2009 / brothers - Wray and Edwin Thompson / step-sister - Madonna Bode.Red''s survivors are:Daughters: Camilla Melville and husband Paul of Toronto, Ohio Roxanna Thompson and fiancAC. Friday with Pastor Josh Elliott and the Reverend Robert Phillips officiating.
