William J. Cooper -Age 82- of Toronto, died Thursday-December 20, 2001 at
Trinity Medical Center-West Steubenville.
He was born October 10,1919 in Toronto, the son of the late William S. and Alice Murphy Cooper.
Bill is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toronto. Toronto Masonic Lodge #583 F.& A.M. Toronto High School Alumni Assoc. and the Jefferson Ruritan Club. He is a graduate of Toronto High School class of 1937.He is a graduate of Ohio State University and has been recently attending Jefferson Community College.
Bill served in the U. S. Army- W.W.II as an observation pilot for the Army Artillery. He is retired as co-owner of the former Coopers Hardware Store in Toronto. Bill was a noted author of the history of Toronto and the Jefferson County area.
He was preceded in death by: Parents / Wife-Virginia C. Dimmett Cooper who passed away September 13,1993 and whom he married January 1,1955

A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday-December 24,2001 at Clarke Funeral Home with the Rev. Lucas Pina officiating.
Burial will follow at Toronto Union Cemetery. There will be Military Honors given at the cemetery by the Chaplain of the Toronto American Legion.
