William E. "Bill" Nightingale, age 75 of Toronto, OH passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

He was born October 1, 1941 in Toronto, OH the son of the late James Edward Nightingale and Ruth Eleanor (Douds) Nightingale.

He was a member of the Toronto Wesleyan Church; was a former board member and vice-president of the Toronto Emergency Medical Service;  was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan and was a 1959 graduate of Toronto High School.

Bill  retired as a lineman from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) and also retired as a bus driver for the Toronto city schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Nightingale in 1972 and aunt, Irene Douds in 1982.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Dianna Lynne Nightingale of Chandler, AZ, Jann Ellen (Paul) Deku of Elsmere, KY, Joan Elaine (Mike) Royer of Waynesburg, OH, Darla Sue (Duane Thornton) Nightingale of Wellsville, OH and Denise Ann (Kevin) Sczruba of Wintersville, OH ; grandchildren, Casie Scheel, Justin Griffith, Rebecca (Thomas) Fletcher, Jerrod Griffith, Julian Pullie, Jacob Griffith and K.J. and Hunter Sczruba; brother, Reverend Richard (Sarah) Nightingale of East Aurora, NY; nephews, Ryan (Krystena) and Michael (Melissa) Nightingale all of East Aurora, NY; great nephew, Zackary Nightingale of East Aurora, NY

Visitation hours for Bill will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Friday, November 18th at the Clarke Funeral Home,  302 Main St., Toronto, OH.

A celebration service of Bill's life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, November 19th at the funeral home with the Reverend Robert Benesh officiating. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery.
