Agnes Joanne (Urich) Rohal

Agnes Joanne (Urich) Rohal, a homemaker age 96 of Stratton, OH passed away Friday, December 4, 2020.

She was born in Stratton, OH June 27, 1924 the daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Pillar) Urich.  She had been the oldest living citizen born in Stratton.  She made Stratton her home for all of her 96 years of life except for a short stay in Washington, D.C. during World War II.  

Agnes was an active member of the St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church and the Byzantine Ladies Guild of the church, Toronto; was a 1942 graduate of Toronto High School; was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate fan and loved to quilt, read, and travel.

Agnes will be remembered as an intelligent, multi-talented woman who was generous to her neighbors.  She was a strong contributor to her community and held various jobs outside of the home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. “Sparky” Rohal in 1993 whom she married October 6, 1945; grandson, Ian Villamagna; sisters, Mary Karaffa, Theresa Sabo, Anne Urich and Mildred Cunningham; brothers, Michael, John, Joseph and Paul Urich.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Theresa "Teri" Blaskowski, Centerville, OH; sons, Timothy J. (Cindi) Rohal of Toronto (New Somerset) and Kevin T. (Katya) Rohal of Toronto; and daughter, Rebecca "Becki" (Michael) Villamagna of Springboro, OH; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Bray of Freemont, OH and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours for Agnes will be held 12 noon to 1 PM Saturday, December 19th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto followed by a Panachida service at 1 PM at the funeral home with officiant Father John Kapitan OFM. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Agnes may be made to the St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church, 814 N. Fifth Street, Toronto, OH 43964
