Albert Bickerstaff, age 100 of Steubenville passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville.
He was born August 6, 1920 in Steubenville the son of the late Albert and Augusta (O’Berg) Bickerstaff.
Albert was a member of the La Belle View Church of Christ of Steubenville.
Albert retired in 1982 from the Weirton Steel Co. as a railroad conductor and had served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW II.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Isabell (Haines) Bickerstaff in 2006 whom he married March 8, 1947; son, David L. Bickerstaff in 2017; his siblings, Bill, Dale, Mary Margaret and Clara Louise.
He is survived by his children, Mary Lou Bickerstaff , Betty (Chuck) Deitch, Scott (Dorrienne) Lewis and daughter-in-law, Vicki Bickerstaff all of Steubenville; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren and his faithful companion, Dobie.
Visitation hours for Albert will be held 11 AM to 1 PM Wednesday, November 25th at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
A celebration service of Albert’s life will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 25. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Minto officiating. Interment will follow at the New Alexandria Cemetery.
Full military honors by the Toronto American Legion will be take place at the funeral home after Albert’s service and before going to the cemetery.
Albert’s family wishes to give a special thanks to the entire staff of the Valley Hospice Care Center North for the loving care and compassion that was extended to Albert.
