Celestia Katherine (Baker) Thompson

Celestia Katherine Thompson, age 81 of Toronto (Costonia), OH passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

She was born March 19, 1938 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Bernard and Celestia (Monigold) Baker.

Celestia loved to knit, do puzzels, bake and do woodcrafts. She loved her grandchildren and loved being with them.

She retired from J.Vincent Thompson C.P.A. Accountants as a bookkeeper . She was also served  alongside her husband Terry as a bookkeeper with the Thompson Bookkeeping Service.

Besides her parents Celestia was preceded in death by her son. Douglas E. Thompson in 2010 and a brother, Bernard “Bud” Baker.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Richard Thompson whom she married December 3, 1977; daughters, Lori (James) Cronin of Hammondsville, OH, Diana Santoyo of Arlington, TX,  and Karen (Tommy) Small of Castleberry, FL; sons, Thomas Samuel (Tonda) Thompson of Toronto, OH, David (Miyera) Thompson of  Arlington, TX and Kenny (Lisa) Thompson of Davenport, FL; Fourteen grandchildren; twenty one great- grandchildren; sisters, Judy Merritt and Mary McDonald both of Toronto, OH and a brother, Walter (Kerriann) Baker of Toronto, OH

Visitation hours for Celestia will be held 6-8 P.M. Friday, August 16th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH and from 10-11 A.M. Saturday, August 17th at the funeral home.

A celebration service of Celestia’s life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at the Center Chapel Cemetery.
