Durwood “Dub” Tarr, 82 of Brunswick, GA formerly of Toronto, OH passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from complications of a triple bypass. He was preceded in death by his son, John Christopher Tarr and a grandson, John Thomas Tarr, his parents, Harry E. and Catherine Shafer Tarr. Also preceded by two sisters, Leora Jean Meade and Elaine Lehman.
Dub was a member of the North Brunswick Christian Church
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years Peggy Tarr of the home; daughters, Debbie Alston, Carol Theodore and Stephanie Smith, He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Travis (Daisy) Alston of Ashburn, VA, Allan (Erica) Smith of Gallatin, TN, Jennifer (Billy) Tarr Robertson of Ringold, VA, Josh Black of Toronto, OH, Emily Black of Steubenville, OH, Steve Smith of Grove City, OH, Janet Tarr of Danville, VA and Stephanie Thornburg of Cadiz,, OH; he also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren Johanna Alston, Trent and Shyloh Swartz, Kendall Robertson, Aerial, Juliet , Isabel Tarr and Preston and Liam Smith. Also a brother, Earl (Dorothy) Tarr of Bradford, OH.
Visitation hours for Dub will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Monday, August 30th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.
A celebration service of Dub’s life will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, August 31st at the funeral home with Reverend Dr. Edna Stahl officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH.
