Emma Blanche McClain, age 88 recently of Canton, OH and had been a longtime resident of County Road 46, Toronto passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Meadow Wind Health Care Center, Massillon, OH after a brief illness.
She was born December 2, 1931 in Morgantown, WV the daughter of the late Eugene and Elma (Cook) Jeans.
Blanche was a member of the Hill Top Presbyterian Church, Toronto since 1959 where she had served as a Deacon, Choir member and Sunday School teacher; was active in the Toronto Bowling League and a neighborhood Bunco club. She was a 1950 graduate of Toronto High School
She had been employed as a physician assistant for Dr. Irving Dryer in Toronto.
Besides her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard McClain in 2018 whom she married December 5, 1951; son, Mark Richard McClain in 2019 and a brother, Harry Jeans.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey J. (Ann) McClain of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Katherine M. McClain of Morgantown, WV and James D. McClain of Canton, OH; brother, Fred (Dolores) Jeans of Avon Park, FL; sister, Shirley (Ronald) Riggleman of Lakeland, FL; daughter-in- law Janice L. McClain and her best friend, Lula Rawson.
Visitation hours for Blanche will be held 2-5 P.M. Saturday, February 29th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH
A celebration service of Blanche’s life will be held 5 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend C. Robert Meyer officiating. Entombment will be held at the Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV at the convenience of Blanche’s family.
