Gary L. Lemmon, age 71 of Toronto passed away at his home Sunday, November 10, 2019.
He was born March 31, 1948 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late John Uhler Lemmon and Katherine (Severs) Dunkle.
Gary was a 1967 graduate of Mingo Junction High School; was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and the Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1276.
He loved all variety of sports and was an avid Ohio State and Dallas Cowboy fan. Gary also loved to bowl especially at the Toronto Lanes and enjoyed golfing.
Gary served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Weirton Steel Company.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Lemmon and Wayne Taylor.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Erin Lee (Fred) Edmonds of Dublin, OH and Stephanie Lynn (Thad) Schrickel of Bloomingdale, OH; step-grandchildren, Tiffany (Randy) McCall and Noel (Chris) Agee all of Maryville, TN, Thaddaeus Schrickel of Port Orange, FL and Taylor (Cory) Wickham of Steubenville, OH and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours for Gary will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, November 13th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.
A celebration service of Gary’s life will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 14th at the funeral home with Pastor William Westling. officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery of Steubenville.
There will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion
