John Edward Vittek, age 80 of Steubenville (Pleasant Hill), Oh passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 2, 1939 in Wellsburg, WV the son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Vittek.
John was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill; was a 1957 graduate of Wellsburg High School; had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Burnkastle, Germany in the 13th Engineers Battalion Eighth Division APO and was retired after 35 years from the former Matlack Tank Lines Corporation of New Martinsville, WV.
John loved telling people about Jesus. He would say “do you want to go to heaven? Jesus, the Son of God is the way. All it takes is a prayer like this: Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. Forgive me for all my sins. Come into my heart and life and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Jesus, Amen”
If you sincerely prayed this and believe it in your heart, then you have a heavenly home. The most important question you can ever answer is,” who do you believe Jesus is and what are you going to do about it.” Your answer will determine where you will spend eternity.
John is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Jane (Monigold) Vittek whom he married July 31, 1971, 48 years of marriage and sweethearts forever. Their love was the greatest love story in the world.
