Joyce Ann (Lawrence) Grodhaus moved into her eternal heavenly home on Sunday April 26, 2020, at the age of 81.
She is reunited with her father and mother John E & Beulah Pauline (Thomas) Lawrence; two brothers John (Jana) and Robert (Judy) Lawrence, of Hammondsville.
Joyce is survived by her husband John; daughter Brenda (David) Haught; son David (Patty) Grodhaus; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter arriving soon; nieces , nephews, cousins and many close friends.
After graduating from Irondale High School in 1956, at the age of 18 she married her soul mate and partner for life, John Grodhaus of Wellsville.
She later attended Cosmetology School and opened a beauty salon in Highlandtown. She not only took pride in her business, but truly relished the friends she made during that season of life.
Her success provided family time to enjoy camping, boating, hiking, and mini vacations.
Other activities included arts & crafts,
cooking & sewing, church events, charity functions; Toronto Senior Citizens; AGLOW, Camp Fire Girl Leader, Band President; & Salineville bowling league.
In the last years of life, she slowed down a bit as diabetes and kidney dialysis limited her mobility.
Her ashes will be spread with the planting of a willow tree by the pond at her daughter’s farm later this summer.
The family wishes to THANK the staff at Memories of Marie Assisted Living and ALMS Hospice Care for providing excellent care and support.
Joyce’s arrangements are in the care of Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
