Lester Walter Rowley, age 82 of Toronto passed away suddenly at his home Monday, May 10, 2021.
He was born December 9, 1938 in Waverly, WV the son of the late Lester C. and Lucille (Stilgenbaur) Rowley.
Lester loved to do woodworking and artistic painting; belonged to the Toronto Masonic Lodge #583; the Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville and the Aladdin Shrine. He retired from the First Energy Co. Sammis Plant in Stratton and had served his country
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Myers.
Lester is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Bob) Star of Wichita, KS, Leslie (Don) Empie of AZ and Patricia Spohn of California; sons, Howard (Diane) Rowley of Mingo Junction and Gregory Rowley of Mingo Junction; brother, Larry Rowley of Marietta; sisters, Sandy Rowley of Steubenville and Judy Shield of Florida; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Betty Stewart of Toronto also survive.
Visitation hours for Lester will be held 3-6 PM Friday, May 14th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 PM with the Reverend Jack Jackson officiating. The Toronto Masonic Lodge will have a service at 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home
There will be full military honors at the funeral home for Lester following the service Friday.
