Marcia Bell Croye, age 83 of Scottsdale, Arizona, former local area resident, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021.
She was born May 18, 1938 in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lawrence (Pete) and Grace Elizabeth (McConnell) Christy.
Marcia loved to read, paint and researching family history. She published two books’
Our McConnell Family of Ohio and West Virginia and the Cabbell and Related Families of West Virginia documenting the family back to Ireland in the mid 1700’s
Her first employment was Executive Secretary to the Director of Aeronautics for the State of West Virginia. She was also employed by Motorola in Arizona and was the department assistant to the president of Wormald Americas. Marcia’s last employment was sales in an antique store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James (Jimmy) Wienman.
Marcia’s is survived by her sons, Mike (Susan) Croye of Mesa, AZ and James Croye of Mesa, AZ; grandson, Joshua (Stacie) Croye; granddaughter, Brianna Elizabeth (Bryan) Tournas; great-granddaughters, Gabriella Croye and Mabel Sue Ann Tournas all of Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation hours for Marcia will be held 5 – 6 Friday, October 22nd at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
A celebration service of Marcia’s life will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 23rd at Island Creek Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating. Interment will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.
