Marion Hannen Potts, age 92 of Warren, OH, a former long-time resident of Toronto passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center of Warren, OH.
She was born August 7, 1927 in Steubenville, OH the daughter of the late Robert M. and Marion (McNeil) Hannen.
Marion was a member of the Toronto First Methodist Church and the Methodist Women of the church; Toronto Order of Eastern Star Chapter 215 and the Toronto Sunrise Senior Citizens.
She was retired from the Edison Local School District as an administrative assistant.
Besides her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwin Potts, Jr. in 2002 whom she married June 19, 1947; brothers, Tom and Robert Hannen and sisters Jean Alt and Margaret Pearce.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene P. Banfield of Fairlawn, OH and Denise P. and husband Dr. Dana Ormerod of North Port, FL and sons, William E. “Dewey” Potts III of Xenia, OH and Douglas H. Potts of Bellaire, OH. Nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation hours for Marion will be 6-8 July 16th At the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto and one hour before services from 10 to 11 am Friday, July 17th at the funeral home.
A celebration service of Marion’s life will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Reverend Doctor Edna Stahl officiating. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery.
