Melanie Jo Bell, age 53 of Empire passed away Monday, November 1, 2021.
She was born October 15, 1968 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Martin R. and Kathleen E. (Spencer) Bell.
Melanie was Methodist by faith; a 1987 graduate of Stanton Local High School where she was an attendance worker and made announcements over the school PA system; She participated in volleyball, basketball and track and field shot put and she was a cafeteria worker and was in the computer lab at Stanton Local. She also played baseball in Empire and softball in Toronto.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Community College in Steubenville graduating with an Associate Degree in art. She had been formally employed by the former Burger King in Steubenville.
Melanie is survived by her sisters, Joyce Ann Bell of Stratton and Shelley Lynn (Anthony) Alford of Empire; brothers, Cory (Bridget) Johnston and Lance (Patty) Johnston all of Toronto; nephews, Sean (Ashley) Alford of Summerville, SC and Cody (Audrey) Alford of Wintersville; niece, Kathlynn (Clayton) Stewart of Jewett; great-nephews, Caden Stewart and Shawn Alford and her aunt Wendy Jo Spencer of Stratton.
Visitation for Melanie will be held 3-7 Friday, November 5th at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto.
A celebration service of Melanie’s life will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, November 6th at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery, County Road 68, Toronto (Sugar Grove).
