Richard Grimes Obituary

Richard Edwin Grimes, age 74 of Toronto passed away suddenly at his home.

 

He was born January 4, 1946 in Steubenville and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Robert W. and Emma Boyd Schilling, parents, Kenneth and Helen Louise Schilling Grimes and a sister, Carolyn Kennedy.

 

Richard was a member of the LaBelle View Church of Christ of Steubenville; was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School and had served his country in Vietnam in the U.S. Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart. He had also served in the Army National Guard. He retired from the Pennsylvania Industrial Transformer Co. as a technician.

 

He is survived by his brothers, Lester A. (Cathy) Grimes of Toronto and Robert (Margaret) Eakin of Sarasota, FL and will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Kenneth and Keith Grimes, Harold Kennedy, Jr., Mary Kay Kennedy Fleishour and Lisa Grimes.

 

Visitation hours for Richard will be held from 3-4 P.M. Wednesday, March 4th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

 

A celebration service of Richard’s life will be held at 4 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Arehart officiating. Full Military honors will be presented at the funeral home following the service.

 

Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery.
