Robert “Bob” Wesley Maxwell, Jr. age 77 was called home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in his home in Wintersville surrounded by his loved ones.
Robert was born in Eye, England on July 7, 1945 to the late Dorothy “Dot” “ McGann” Flanagan and Robert W. Maxwell, Sr. and also preceded in death by his brother Fred (Paullette) Maxwell, step father, Arvel Flanagan and brother-in-law Bob Volsky.
Robert grew up in Lafferty, Ohio where he spent his childhood hunting and enjoying the outdoors.
He joined the Navy at just 17 years old and he later joined the Sea Bees and served in the Vietnam War and courageously fought for his country .
Robert and Mae attended the Cornerstone Church in Toronto.
Surviving is his beloved wife Cleona Mae (Flanagan) Maxwell whom he married April 9, 1966, 56 years of Wintersville; his beloved sons, Bobby (Vickie) Maxwell, Christopher (Lynnette) Maxwell and Joey (Jodie) Maxwell; siblings, Cheryl (Phillip) Spears, Rose (Floyd) Cruse, Pamela Volsky and Mark Maxwell; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Abby, Luke, Kristie (Shaun), Emmah and William; great-grandchildren, Carson and Gracie Brandon; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Jade.
Visitation hours for Robert will be held Thursday, April 6th from 12noon to 2PM at the Cornerstone Church, 423 Clark St., Toronto followed by a celebration service of Roberts life at 2PM at the church with Pastor Raul Diaz officiating.
The Toronto American Legion Honor Guard will present military honors at the church for Robert after his service. Also following the service, friends and family are invited to remain at the church for a meal and fellowship with the family following services.
