Roberta Kay (Parish) Finney

Roberta Kay Finney, age 75 of Steubenville (Pleasant Hill) passed away Sunday March 5, 2023.

She was born September 29, 1947 in Steubenville.

Kay was preceded in death by her Mother and Father: Elizabeth and Clarence (Red) Parrish Sister: Elizabeth (John) Sankey Son: Sean Finney Survived by: Husband: John Finney Brother: William Parrish Daughters and sons: Erica Finney, Joshua Finney, Kassey (Michael) Minor, and Ryan (Lara) Finney Granddaughters: Cameron and Alexandra Minor, Lydia Finney Born: September 29th, 1947 Married John Finney on June 25th, 1971 They met while she was a secretary at Knoxville Elementary. She went on to get her teaching degree in special education. She taught special education for 30 years at Knoxville and Pleasant Hill elementary. After retirement she worked to preserved the Pleasant Hill Schoolhouse with her husband John Finney and worked to create the Pleasant Hill Schoolhouse Historical Museum. But her greatest happiness came from her 3 granddaughters… Cameron, Alexandra and Lydia. They were her everything. In lieu of flowers the family asks to donate to Pleasant Hill Schoolhouse Historical Museum to 151 Lovers Lane, Steubenville, OH 43953.

A memorial service for Kay will be held Thursday, March 9th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto from 4 to 7 PM.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.
