William Bruce “Bill” Montgomery, age 63 of Toronto passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family who he loved with all his heart Friday, August 21, 2020 at his home.
He was born July 5, 1957 in Weirton, WV the son of the late Jack and Margaret (Angus) Montgomery.
Bill was a member of the Evangal Baptist Church, Weirton; Steubenville Pilgrim Masonic Lodge No.691 F.& AM and was a 1975 graduate of Weirton High School.
He loved football and was a great Minnesota Vikings fan; loved his family and was dedicated to his love of God and was an ordained minister; retired from Weirton Steel Co. as a millwright and after retirement from Weirton Steel he was an employee of Clow Piping Co. of Coshocton, OH. He served his country in the U.S. Nasvy
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Montgomery; nephew, Thomas Montgomery; niece, Jamie Montgomery and his cat Monty.
Bill is survived by his wife, Catherine J. “Kitt” (Evans) Montgomery whom he married February 14, 1978; son, Michael Montgomery of Steubenville; daughters, Amanda (Aaron) Stanley and Jessica Addom all of Toronto ; grandchildren, Daniel (Destiny), Haylee, Taylor Saunders, Ryan and Nevaeh Addom and Cody Nonemaker; great-granddaughter, Octavia Saunders and all the children and grandchildren he claimed as his; brother, John (Patty Ann) Montgomery and Jimmy (Ketina) Montgomery all of Weirton; sister, Mary Lou Suhr of Steubenville and sister-in-law, Leisa “Lucy” Montgomery of Weirton.
Visitation hours for Bill will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Wednesday, August 26th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. Steubenville Masonic Pilgrim Lodge No. 691 will conduct services at the funeral home 7:30 pm Wednesday.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held 12 pm (noon) Thursday, August 27th at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Taylor officiating followed by full military honors by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard at the funeral home.
