David C. Grimm, Sr., age 85 of Salineville, OH passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home.

 

He was born April 6, 1930 in Port Homer the son of the late John and Edna Nixon Grimm.

 

David was a member of the Salineville Assembly of God; the National Turkey Association; the National Rifle Association; the Columbiana County Farm Bureau and the Salineville American Legion Post 442.

 

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had been employed by the former Peerles Clay Co. and retired from the Dravo Corporation.

 

David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Arlene Dunlevy Grimm in 2007 and whom he married June 7, 1957 and brothers, John and Richard Grimm.

 

He is survived by his son, David C. (Kathy) Grimm, Jr. and daughter Melissa K. (Tom) Miller all of Salineville, OH; grandchildren, Kasandra (Ryan) Wilson, Debbie (Jason) Prendergast and DeeDee (Charles) Willis all of Salineville, OH, Taumi (Deana) Kalcich of New York and Matthew (Jill) Miller of Michigan; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jacob, Caleb, Emma, Hannah, Tyler, David, Brittanie, Zachary and Trent; brothers, Dale (Carol) Grimm of Carrollton, OH and Norman (Julie) Grimm of Wellsville, OH; sisters, Pauline  Huyghe of Uhrichville, OH, Joyce Ketchum of Hammondsville, OH and Linda Grimm of Toronto, OH.

 

Visitation hours for David will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 27th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto.

 

A celebration service of David’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28th at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney Ohler officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Salineville, OH.

 

There will be graveside honors by the Salineville American Legion Honor Guard.

 

Following the graveside service there will be a funeral luncheon for family and friends at the Salineville Assembly of God Church. Food donations for the luncheon may be sent to the church.
